Graydon Carter gathers high-profile friends to celebrate new movie
Outgoing Vanity Fair editor Graydon Carter got some of his most fabulous friends together on Tuesday night to toast “Agnelli” — the new movie he executive produced on Gianni Agnelli, the “father of Fiat.”
After a screening of the HBO doc at MoMA, Carter and HBO boss Richard Plepler co-hosted a dinner at La Grenouille, which is said to have been Agnelli’s favorite New York eatery (apparently Barry Diller was responsible for that little flight of fancy).
We’re told that among the swirl of swells were Diane von Furstenberg (along with Diller) and Agnelli’s niece Priscilla Rattazzi as well as Diane Sawyer, Fran Lebowitz, Victor Garber, author Sally Bedell Smith, Tom Freston, Carey Lowell, New York magazine’s Frank Rich, Alex Witchel and Len Blavatnik. (Not there was troubled Fiat heir Lapo Elkann.)
The movie airs on Dec. 18.
Also this week, we hear that Carter was being thrown a going away party at Balthazar by Condé Nast CEO Bob Sauerberg with guests including top execs, VF staffers and contributors.
